BACCHUS Hand Made Series - Japan
Bacchus Handmade guitars are hand crafted by the most experienced Japanese luthiers at our Aska factory located in Nagano, Japan. Most other guitar manufacturers use factory-line NC routers in order to reduce costs and increase production. However, we believe the selection of tone wood for guitars and basses must be processed and carved by human hand. Our reasoning is simple: all wood materials differ from each other, even among the same species of wood. We need to be able to recognize these difference in order to create quality instruments. The ways in which the wood age, the ways they process, the ways they behave―recognizing these factors require an experienced eye of a skilled luthier. Simply put, our hand crafted guitars produce supreme sounds that will last you a lifetime.
Mr. Satoshi “Kei” Yatsuzuka, the founder of Deviser company, began working with guitar manufacturers in the early 1970′s. It was here where he began his ambitious goal of creating second to none quality guitars. In 1977 Kei founded the Headway factory in Japan that produced guitars with a quality that of to old legendary guitars made in the USA. Today we have moved our main production to the successor factory called Aska and Ai music. Here we continue manufacturing Headway guitars, which have been referred to as the world’s highest quality. Our original factory “Headway” was started up in 1977, as a quest for second-to-none quality and world-class tone. At the Headway factory, we followed the traditional way of guitar manufacturing which was represented by precise handcrafting and our endeavor for the best method in every aspect of guitar manufacturing. Since then our guitars have been loved widely beyond countries, by players who seek for genuine quality that can never be achieved with a mass-produced guitar.Today, we have moved our main production to the successor factories Aska and the Philippine factory. Here we continue handcrafting guitars which have been referred to as the world’s highest quality.
